I'm not going to go into a huge, motivational speech here. Frankly, I don't even think one should necessarily be needed.

Gift art is something that everybody loves receiving. In my days, I've made a lot of gift art for a lot of people. There's no way better to brighten a day then knowing you made someone else's day a little bit happier.

And better yet? It's a great way to get yourself out of an art slump.

So, everybody who sees this, all of you who like to give gifts, have been in an art slump, or have even been in a personal mental slump... I implore you.

Go into your favorite drawing gallery. Whether it be comics, sketches, illustrations, anime, whatever. Look through the art, and pick out somebody at random. Just whoever pops out at you. Go into their gallery, find something they love.. a fandom, favorite color, favorite band, or even easier, an original character of theirs.

And draw that person something.

It doesn't have to take you fifty billion hours to do it. It doesn't have to be perfect. It's the thought that counts, it doesn't matter if it's even just a sketch.

Then post it, note them of it's existence, (I would recommend keeping a link to their page in your bookmarks for the time being) and sit back..

And smile. Then go encourage others to give someone random a random gift.

You don't have to be able to save the world just to make yourself happy about something you've done. All it takes is showing a little kindness and making someone else happy.

I've been in quite a slump lately. And damnit, giving people something, making them feel good, it makes me feel good. It's rewarding. I'm going to make an effort to at least give a random person a gift at least once every week that I can.

But even doing it once and if you never make another gift again, at least you did it when you did.
